The safety and security of our groups is our number one priority.
We constantly monitor the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) travel advisories and will take appropriate action in the event of changes to advisory levels. The Academy Travel policy is if DFAT changes their advisory to “Do not travel” to an entire region, we will cancel and refund all monies paid. If the advisory level for a particular destination is raised to “Do not travel” or “Reconsider your need to travel”, we will work with the school to develop an alternate itinerary to avoid these areas.
We have office in Rome, Munich and London that provide 24/7 on the ground support for our tours in Europe. This means we are able to make any necessary changes to school programs at very short notice. Our team at Academy Europe speak all major European languages allowing them to organise itinerary changes quickly and competently.
In other destinations (USA, Asia, etc) we work with ground operators who we are in direct contact with and can assist with any changes.
Academy Travel is a fully licensed travel agent, which means we are able to change flights and other bookings if required.
Academy Travel registers all participants with DFAT.
We also have a comprehensive risk management plan that covers all potential scenarios that is provided to the school. This allows for all parties (school, teachers, tour manager, etc) to have guidelines on how to manage any potential situation that may occur.
